Fuel Supplement – A Greener Future.

At Courier Logistics, we are committed to pioneering sustainable and efficient energy solutions. Our advanced fuel mechanism is designed to optimise performance while reducing environmental impact, embodying the future of cleaner energy. By incorporating HVO into our fuel mechanism, we are leading the charge toward sustainable energy practices. Our technology not only supports renewable energy adoption but also empowers our clients to make eco-conscious choices without compromising on performance.

Sustainable Fuel Options: The Power of HVO: Our Plan

We are proud to include Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) across our fleet which includes our HGV and Linehaul in a 70:30 ratio, this ratio will increase year on year per our CarbonLITE plan until we get to 90% Co2 reduction (90% is the maximum Co2 reduction that HVO can offer). HVO is a renewable, sustainable, and high-performance fuel derived from vegetable oils and fats. Compared to traditional fossil fuels, HVO significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions, particulate matter, and other harmful pollutants.

Our Standard Fuel Supplement applies to all transportation services provided by Courier Logistics. Simply, it is based on the average White Diesel price, as quoted by the Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy Report, along with the price of HVO, which currently tracks at White Diesel + £0.18ppl.

Our 2025 adoption of HVO is on a 70:30 ratio and thus our Fuel Supplement Mechanism is based on a weighted average between these two fuel types. The table below shows both price bands, along with the fuel mix average that will be used to establish the applicable fuel supplement banding:

Our escalator moves at .25% per 1p fuel movement with a minimum of 10%. Corresponding fuel price will be subject to a 1-week delay due to time of publish and invoicing routine timings.

Why HVO?

  • Lower Carbon Footprint: HVO reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 90%, contributing to global climate goals.
  • Cleaner Combustion: It burns with fewer emissions, enhancing engine performance and lifespan.
  • Flexible and Reliable: HVO integrates seamlessly with existing diesel infrastructure, requiring no modifications.
  • Renewable Resource: Made from waste and sustainably sourced feedstocks, HVO promotes a circular economy.
