What is 'CarbonLITE'
At Courier Logistics, we're aware of the impact that an industry like ours has the the world and environment, this has lead us to the launch of our 'CarbonLITE' initiative. CarbonLITE is our sustainability strategy aimed at reducing our ecological and carbon footprint through integrating more eco-friendly practices into logistics operations within our business. The initiative will be introducing a series of measures into our operations with the goal of reducing carbon emissions, enhancing energy efficiency and creating a culture of sustainability within our organisation.
Key Measures to reduce our Carbon Footprint
What's in place so far:
Transition to HVO Fuel
Transition to HVO Fuel
In partnership with Crown Oil, we have begun the integration of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) into our fleet's fuel supply with the goal of being 100% HVO by 2030. HVO is a renewable diesel alternative made from sustainable sources such as waste vegetable oils and animal fats. Its adoption enables up to a 90% reduction in net CO₂ emissions compared to traditional diesel
Carbon Offsetting with Ecologi
Carbon Offsetting with Ecologi
Through our partnership with Ecologi, we actively invest in carbon offsetting projects that support reforestation, renewable energy, and global sustainability efforts. This initiative allows us to compensate for our unavoidable emissions while contributing to meaningful environmental change - currently funded 6,530 trees and avoided 130 tonne in cO2 emissions.
On-Site Renewable Energy Regeneration
On-Site Renewable Energy Regeneration
Our Dinnington facility is equipped with solar panels ranging from 45 to 90 kW. These installations not only power our electric vehicle (EV) fleet but also allow us to contribute extra energy back to the grid, helping support a more sustainable energy system.
Electric FLTs
Electric FLTs
We have transitioned to using electric forklift trucks across our warehouses to significantly cut down on fossil fuel usage and emissions. These forklifts provide a cleaner, and more energy-efficient alternative to traditional diesel-powered models, helping reduce our carbon footprint.
E-Invoicing
e've transitioned to digital invoicing, saving 1,900 sheets of paper per week. This shift not only reduces waste but also enhances efficiency, supporting our commitment to a more sustainable operation.
